Le groupe de folk rock a fait appel à plusieurs chanteuses telles que Julie Doiron, Mayon, Caitlin Rose, Jolie Holland et Kimya Dawson. The portable Herman Dune vol.1 est une collection de 39 chansons nouvellement enregistrées et interprétées qui seront réparties sur 3 volumes.
